If you are looking for a tax-deductible donation, you may consider the QCO donation program. Under this program, QCO asks you for the total amount you plan to donate to the homeless shelter, halfway house, and recovery center. Once you have made a gift to QCO, you can deduct that amount from your federal taxes. Your donation is treated as a deduction of the full value of your gift, but you cannot deduct more than the amount you originally donated.
QCO will process your gift, apply the deductible percentage for the homeless shelter, halfway house, and recovery center, and send you a letter explaining how the QCO deduction was Arizona charitable tax credit calculated. If you would like to make a larger gift, you can increase your deduction by giving a second donation.
A special deduction is available to people who donate to QCO more than one year. This year, you can claim a QCO deduction for a donation made to the QCO in 2021. It does not matter which one of your two gifts was given later. You can take either deduction. You are also permitted to claim the QCO deduction for each of the years you donate to the organization.
