Georgia Voll Joins Australia’s New Zealand Tour Squad
Following her outstanding performance in her first series against India, Australian opener Georgia Voll has been included in the team for the forthcoming one-day international tour of New Zealand. The tour will begin on December 19 and consist of three matches.
After scoring a critical 46* In the first game, the 21-year-old player earned her first one-day international century in the second game at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. After two matches, she has scored 147 runs, making her the current leading scorer in the series.
Nevertheless, Voll’s impressive performance can be traced back to the recently concluded Women’s Big Bash League. She accumulated 330 runs in 12 games during that league, making her the fifth top scorer. Visit betpro login and watch all cricket updates.
Her team, Sydney Thunder, made it to the Challenger before ultimately losing to Brisbane Heat, who finished in second place.
According to Ellyse Perry, Voll received a lot of accolades after she scored her first century on Sunday. “She’s just really unflappable, and just seems to take every opportunity in her stride,” Perry stated in his interview.
“I think that’s all you can ask of any player, is to continue to push everyone around them and play the best they can and make the most of any opportunity they get.”
If they are able to take that opportunity, incentives will be forthcoming, whether they arrive immediately or later. In the case of Georgia, she has unquestionably established herself as a possibility for the team and the selectors in the future; that much is certain.
Alyssa Healy, the team captain, suffered a knee injury while playing in the Women’s Big Bash League. Although Healy has not played for her country since October, when she participated in the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup, she is on track to make a comeback to the Australian team in New Zealand.
In the meantime, Gavan Twining, currently the head coach of the NSW Breakers, will join the club as a full-time fielding and wicket-keeping coach for the next two years. He is expected to collaborate with other assistant coaches, specifically Scott Prestwidge and Dan Marsh.
