Julian Nagelsmann has long been touted as a potential candidate to manage Chelsea following his dismissal from Bayern Munich, and TalkSPORT understands that he will now meet directly with club officials to discuss potential talks.

Julian Nagelsmann

Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as an early candidate for the Chelsea manager position after being invited for face-to-face talks, according to German newspaper BILD. According to reports from German outlets, former Bayern Munich coach Nagelsmann will introduce himself and discuss his ideas with club officials as they search for a replacement for Graham Potter.

He’s just one of a series of coaches linked with taking over Stamford Bridge – others include Marco Silva at Fulham and Mauricio Pochettino who has long managed Tottenham.

Born in Landsberg am Lech, he began coaching at 1860 Munchen before suffering a knee injury which prevented him from following Christian Trasch and Fabian Johnson to Augsburg. Subsequently working under Tuchel at RB Leipzig where he won both top flight title and Champions League semi-final within one season of coaching there.

However, not everything went according to plan in his first year at Bayern Munich as they experienced several challenging moments during this time period. Perhaps most notably was Robert Lewandowski leaving for Barcelona with what many believed was a reduced fee, while reports of tension with players like Toni Tapalovic and an apparent falling-out with assistant coach Stefan Kiessling have caused debate within the club.

Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea have invited former PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino to present his ideas for their managerial post at Stamford Bridge following Graham Potter’s dismissal; although Pochettino may rank lower on their shortlist than other contenders such as Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique.

He has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he enjoyed an outstanding five-and-a-half year reign during which they won both Champions League titles and reached their respective finals. Although he was let go last November after their slip into 14th in Premier League table was apparent, chairman Daniel Levy is said to be eager to employ his services again.

Spurs will also meet with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann as they look for him to return as manager following Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal at the end of March. Christopher Vivell worked alongside Nagelsmann during his time at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig and may consider inviting him back due to an impressive start in coaching his coaching career has made.

Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique has impressed during early talks with Chelsea and is among those being considered for the job of replacing Graham Potter as coach. Now residing in London, Enrique plans on continuing discussions with them further.

He led Barcelona to both La Liga and Champions League glory in 2014/15 and boasts extensive experience throughout his career. Additionally, he managed the Spanish national team and won one World Cup before reaching 2021 Nations League final.

This 52-year-old Spanish football manager has built up a solid reputation among fans as an effective leader and successful manager in both Spanish football and the Premier League. His style of play seems ideal for accommodating Chelsea’s new roster of younger players that has arrived over recent years.

He is said to have met with Chelsea officials this week, and appears poised to make the switch once Frank Lampard’s contract ends at the end of this season.

Graham Potter

Chelsea have invited Julian Nagelsmann, the former RB Leipzig manager who was recently dismissed following Graham Potter’s departure, for talks regarding a possible appointment as head coach.

According to Bild, the German is expected to discuss his ideas with co-owners Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley as well as technical director Christopher Vivell at RB Leipzig, according to Bild. It’s thought that their board are keen for him to join due to his past connections and work as a youth coach at the club.

However, he reportedly is weighing when and whether he should return to management and coaching. He coached Germany for six years but became disillusioned due to off-field issues which ultimately caused his dismissal from Bayern Munich.

Luis Enrique, who has close connections with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, has also been mentioned as a possible candidate. Unfortunately, however, he only managed Spain at national level and does not possess experience managing Premier League teams.
