How does a hoverboard work?

To simplify, we can say that a hoverboard is a skateboard with two wheels. But, of course, this is not enough. Why is it proving so successful? Because it works with an electric motor, powered by a battery that generally lasts for a few hours. Ecological and comfortable: two strengths of the hoverboard.

Learning to drive is very simple: the two wheels, connected but independent, can be driven individually by your foot and the only thing you have to do is try to keep the balance. But, we assure you, it’s not difficult at all!

To brake, push your body backward: and vice versa, if you want to run (but generally the hoverboard does not exceed 15 km per hour) you tend to lean forward. Instead, to turn, force your foot in the direction you want to go. For example, if you want to turn right, force your right foot while if you need to turn left, force your left foot. Simple, isn’t it?  We add, fun too!

Is the hoverboard suitable for everyone?

If your concern concerns the little ones, the answer is yes:  everyone can have fun with the hoverboard. In particular, in the latest versions, particular attention has been paid to safety for children who can, therefore, give free rein to their imagination.

But, be careful, it is not said that only they can use it! If you’re traveling and don’t want to get too tired visiting a city,  you can use it to visit all the places that interest you, in maximum comfort and without sweating.

Or, if you live at home, never mind using the hoverboard for groceries or a visit to the doctor. However, as you will be able to see by continuing to read and reading the list of 7 hoverboards that we have chosen for you,

There are some small limitations, especially on weight: if overloaded too much, the hoverboard risks breaking after a short time.

How to choose a hoverboard?

Now that you know how it works and why it’s suitable for practically everyone, you need to understand which features are essential and absolutely cannot be missing. Here are three:

• Quality:

Unfortunately, it is not a properly cheap product. Maybe one day it will be but, today, to have a decent hoverboard you have to spend from €100 upwards. Sure, maybe someone will sell it to you for €50, or maybe even €30, but watch out for quality: especially if you’re just starting, it’s easy to break it and therefore you’re forced to buy it again. Moreover, the quality risks inevitably go down and you may not have all the comforts you thought you had. In short,  aim for quality, even by spending a little more. We are convinced that, then, you will not regret it!

• Transportability:

As you can imagine, it is not a light product (just think that it has two wheels, a battery, a frame, and other electronic devices) and, therefore,  portability takes on a significant value. On average, it weighs between 10 and 20 kg but, if you can do very little with the weight, check if the dimensions can be reduced, ‘dividing’ the entire hoverboard into several parts, so that you can carry it with a handbag. After all, if you can’t take it with you, in the long run, it becomes a limitation, right?

• How do you use it?:

The third feature is a question we ask you. No, we don’t mean the care you will give to the hoverboard but if you are a beginner, an expert, or want to buy it for your child. This is for two reasons: the first is that, if you buy hoverboards with lots of features and you’re not an expert, you risk using very little potential. The second concerns children: if you take it too professionally, then it becomes complex to use and also increases the speed. Not ideal for those who just want to have fun!
